The Estonian Association of Bookbinding Artists presents unique book covers in the exhibition "Everyday Companions. HANDBAGS 1900-1950". On the occasion of the exhibition was presented a unique exhibition catalog made by the bookbinders - Anneli Filipov, Dina Aller, Dorel Sabre, Eve Kaaret, Irmeli Jaanson, Jaana Päeva, Kadri Paloveer, Karen Milistver, Kelian Luisk, Kert Lokotar, Lennart Mänd, Monica Langwe, Rene Haljasmäe, Riina Kermik, Rünno Kulver, Sirje Kriisa, Tiia Eikholm, Tiiu Vijar, Tulvi Turo and Tähti Roostalu.
Exhibition "Everyday Companions. Handbags 1900-1950" tells the story of the development of handbags in Estonia between 1900 and 1950. It is the first exhibition to present Estonian handbag design from the first half of the 20th century. The different types of bags reflect the changing role of women in the early 20th century, the new needs and opportunities of life at that time.
The bags on display and in the catalogue come from the Tallinn City Museum, the Estonian History Museum, the Estonian National Museum, the Pärnu Museum, the Narva Museum, the Virumaa Museums, the Palamuse O. Lutsu Kihelkonnaakooliakmuuseum in Palau, the Coastal Folk Museum and the private collection of Jaana Päeva.
